SPECIAL NOTICE

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

Cassette Printers Dayton 1

The Department of Veterans Affairs Dayton Medical Center (DAY VAMC), 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, 45428 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) - Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 334118 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees, and this is a SDVOSB set-aside. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Thermo Fischer Scientific, 300 New Jersey Ave NW, Washington, DC 200001,to one of their SDVOSB distributors.

The acquisition is for a PrintMate 450 cassette printer for use in the Dayton VA Medical Center pathology and laboratory departments. The printer provides high-speed, high-resolution printing of laboratory results, labels, and cassettes, ensuring accurate specimen identification and workflow efficiency. This purchase replaces the existing printer, which has exceeded its service life and is no longer supported by the manufacturer. The printer includes all necessary power supplies, cables, and installation services, ensuring immediate readiness for clinical use and compliance with VA laboratory standards. Use of this specific printer maintains compatibility with existing laboratory information systems and supports uninterrupted laboratory operations.
