About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of a Mirion lead-lined PET Unit Dose Cabinet with an integrated Compact L-Block Dose Calibrator Shield designated as "Brand Name Only." The requirement is a one-time purchase of radiation shielding equipment for the Martinsburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) located in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The current cabinet is beyond economic repair and requires replacement.

The cabinet must meet specific technical requirements including compact dimensions of 36.5 inches width by 24 inches depth by 36.5 inches height to fit existing space constraints in the hot lab. Key specifications include a stainless-steel countertop with a 4-inch back splash, key-locked doors for radioactive material security, incorporation of the current CRC 55tR dose calibrator, and shielding on all six sides. The integrated dose calibrator shield requires at least 1-inch thickness with internal dimensions of 6.85 inches diameter by 10.25 inches height, surrounded by 0.86-inch thick lead shielding. The cabinet must include a lead brick cave providing at least 2 inches of lead lateral shielding, an 8-inch by 8-inch by 4-inch thick see-through window in the L-block, and accommodate two top and two bottom sliding shelves for PET shipping containers. The procurement includes six deliverables: the cabinet, L-block shield, lead brick cave, PET shield sharps container, compatible sharps container, and PET auxiliary shield. The contract type is Firm Fixed Price (FFP) with delivery required within 60 days of award and manufacturer standard warranty of at least one year. Evaluation factors include brand name compliance with SOW requirements, OEM authorization letter from the manufacturer (required for responsiveness), vendor registration in the local IFCAP system, delivery lead times, completed Buy American and Free Trade Agreement certificates, FAR Part 25 compliance, and price. Receiving occurs at the Warehouse team in building 519, with the Radiology Service as the end-user department and Mark Flickinger as the end-user point of contact.
