3. The design operating sequence of the system is as follows

a. Reuse Water Pump (Jockey RWP-1) and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD-1) is controlled by pump control pressure transmitter and PLC in the Pump Control

Panel located in the Pump Station. The PLC controls the pump and VFD via 4-20 mA signal from the pressure transmitter. Jockey RWP-1 maintains a minimum discharge pressure of 100 psi. Jockey RWP-1 stops when the pressure exceeds more than 110 psi at the minimum speed.

b. Main Reuse Water Pump (RWP-2A) and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD-2) is controlled by pump control pressure transmitter and PLC in the Pump Control

Panel. The PLC controls the pump and VFD via 4-20 mA signal from the pressure transmitter. Main RWP-2A starts and Jockey RWP-1 stops when the discharge pressure drops below 100 psi for more than 30 seconds. RWP-2A maintains a minimum discharge pressure of 100 psi. Main RWP-2A stops when the discharge pressure exceeds 110 psi at the minimum speed for more than 30 seconds, and

RWP-1 starts and maintains a pressure of 100 psi.

c. Main Reuse Water Pumps (RWP-2A & RWP-2B) alternate starts every 24 hours at a preset time.

d. All Reuse Water Pumps are provided with an adjustable minimum run time set for

30 seconds.

e. All pumps shut down when water level in the pump station wet well drops to the low water level.

C. The Work: Shall include, but shall not be limited to the following (not necessarily in the order indicated):

Automatic Screen Filter

1. The Contractor shall remove and replace the screen filter system (currently Tekleen), bypass, and filter control with dual self-cleaning screen filters.

2. Demo the filter, bypass, and appurtances starting from the first 12-inch flange outside of the pump house; demo up to the last 12-inch flanged fitting (45-degree elbow) before the line dips below grade. Retain the first existing 12-inch isolation gate valve and reinstall in place of the existing bypass tee fitting. Demo the five (5) concrete pipe support stands that are in the way of the new installation.

3. Install four (4) 8-inch isolation butterfly valves for the filters’ inlets and outlets. Install a

10-inch isolation butterfly valve for the main bypass. Install necessary reducer fittings to connect the 10-inch filter inlet and outlet to the irrigation system 12-inch main.

4. Install two (2) V-Series automatic self-cleaning screen filters Model V-1500-10-200 as provided by VAF™ Filtration Systems (by Evoqua). Each filter shall provide uninterrupted filtration for up to 2120 gallons per minute (GPM) through 316L stainless steel filter body and 200-micron 316L stainless steel weave-wire filtering screen. The screen surface area shall be 1300 square inches and shall consist of no less than 32% open area. The filtering element shall consist of 3 layers constructed of 316L stainless steel. The filtering element layers shall be the 1) filtering screen, 2) dispersion screen and

3) the structural screen. The filter housing and cover shall be manufactured from 316L stainless steel. Filter housing and internal assembly seals shall be constructed of EPDM.

The filter body assembly shall be capable of accepting interchangeable filtering screen elements from 1500 to 10 micron. Filter body coatings shall not be required.

5. Install new 2-inch electric flush valve with stainless steel ball valve body and 24V actuator in a NEMA 6P housing. Differential pressure across the filtering screen shall be continuously monitored and the flush cycle threshold shall be adjustable. The flush valve shall activate the automatic cleaning feature of the screen utilizing only the flush waste flow water pressure during the flush process to drive the six (6) suction scanner nozzles.

The cleaning mechanism assembly shall be constructed of 316L stainless steel and glass filled Nylon. The suction scanner nozzle assembly shall be constructed of CPVC. The minimum pressure required during flush shall be 35 psi. The filtering process shall remain uninterrupted during the flush cycle.

6. Install filter controller with fault indicator (24V terminal provided for external alarm) and reset. The filter control system shall be provided by the filter manufacturer. The filter controller shall control all aspects of each filter’s operation, including but not limited to flushing by: differential pressure (DP) as the default; time and DP (DP will hold precedence); continuous flush; and manual flush.

7. Install five (5) new 8” thick x 24” wide cast-in-place reinforced pipe support blocks with

2’ wide x 4’ long x 1’ thick footers as shown on the contract drawings. Provide and install new welded and coated steel pipe support stands; anchor bolt to new concrete blocks. Provide and install new hot-dipped galvanized u-bolt pipe anchors to go around pipe; u-bolt shall have cross-linked polyolefin applied to shank (any part in contact with water pipe). Provide and install high-density thermo-plastic semi-rod pipe support to separate the pipe from the concrete block; the thermoplastic compressive strength shall be no less than 15 ksi, tensile strength of 9.4 ksi.

Discharge Drain Pipe and Catch Basin

8. The Contractor shall pipe the filter discharge line to the new catch basin. Transition from the 2” NTP filter discharge line to a 4-inch Sch. 40 PVC pipe to the catch basin.

FRP or composite 30-inch diameter manhole with steel support frame according to the contract drawings and specifications.

10. Install approximately 555 linear feet (LF) of 6-inch solid, smooth interior wall Sch. 40

PVC drainage pipe with cleanouts including appropriate trenching and backfill according to the contract drawings and specifications from the catch basin to the new concrete outlet headwall and riprap. The drainage pipe shall be installed along the lines and grades shown on the drawings and maintain positive drainage (1.25% minimum unless otherwise noted). Install 6-inch cleanout/inspection ports, installed flush with the finish grade as indicated on the contract drawings. The cleanouts shall have threaded plugs.

11. Strip the live turf along the proposed drain line path to the proposed drain outlet. Trench for the drain line according to the contract drawings. Trench width shall be at least 23 inches wide and Cemetery staff will mark the approximate locations of utilities; however, the Contractor shall be responsible for accurate utility locations. Protect from damage existing, crossing irrigation laterals, sub-mains and other utilities that will be encountered during construction; hand dig in these areas. There is one expected utility crossing where the Contractor shall be required to either go under or over a 4-inch water line (at unknown depth). There are irrigation control wires either direct buried or in conduit that will also need to be avoided. The Contractor shall also be required to bore a short distance under a chain link fence with concrete support near the outlet. Any excess excavated material not reused shall be disposed of appropriately off site. Contractor shall install 4-foot high orange, plastic construction fencing around any open excavations for the protection of the staff.

12. Place and compact enough backfill and 3 inches of imported clean, amended topsoil in order to restore all surfaces and grades. Provide and install certified “Celebration”

Bermuda sod for all disturbed areas in accordance with the contract specifications.

13. Reinstall any fencing that was required to be temporarily removed to access the outlet construction.
