About this file

This document contains details from a retro-commissioning report of a Veterans Affairs medical center. It identifies various equipment and systems across multiple buildings that would benefit from repairs, replacements, control sequence updates or other corrective actions to improve energy efficiency. Issues were found with AHUs, chillers, boilers, pumps and other HVAC equipment. Recommended solutions include implementing nighttime setbacks, releasing local fan controls to the BAS, replacing dampers and valves, updating sequences to prevent simultaneous heating and cooling, and re-commissioning energy recovery systems. Estimated energy savings and project costs are provided for each issue along with simple payback periods generally under ten years.
