About this file
This janitorial service specifications document outlines the requirements for cleaning services at the Roanoke Career Center in Roanoke, Alabama, managed by the State of Alabama. The vendor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to maintain the approximately 1,800 square foot facility in clean and sanitary condition. Nightly cleaning services are required five nights per week (Monday through Friday) after 5:00 p.m., with no operations permitted after midnight without written department approval. The contract period runs from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027, with service not beginning earlier than October 1, 2026. A mandatory site visit to the facility at 3928 US Highway 431, Roanoke, AL 36274 is required prior to bid submission, with a signed certification form from both the vendor and the Career Center Manager (Rebekah Freeman, (256) 414-6200) documenting the inspection. Vendors must submit bids with references and demonstrate adequate local service organization capabilities with full-time employed representatives; no subcontracting is permitted without written approval.
The state furnishes paper towels, toilet tissue, hand soap, trash can liners, and sanitary napkin holder liners, with the vendor responsible for replacement in dispensers. Invoices are rendered monthly in arrears, with payment potentially delayed 30 to 45 days due to the fiscal year ending September 30th. Vendors must provide a 30-day written notice prior to contract termination. Key control is critical, with vendors held responsible for securing all keys and entry devices; any lost or stolen keys result in lock or key replacement costs being deducted from vendor invoices. The specifications include detailed cleaning duties for offices, breakrooms, conference rooms, restrooms, lobby entranceways, corridors, carpets, and floors, with particular emphasis on sanitization, disinfection, and removal of fingerprints and handprints. Supervisory personnel information must be submitted prior to contract commencement, and no children under eighteen or pets are permitted on premises during cleaning operations.
