SECTION I – GENERAL INFORMATION

INTRODUCTION

Broward College (hereinafter referred to as the “College”) is one of the 28 institutions comprising the Florida College System governed by Sections 1001.60 et seq. of the Florida Statutes. The College provides higher education, technical, and occupational training for the residents of Broward County, Florida. The College is a community-based institution that offers a comprehensive range of programs responsive to needs and changes in the community and technology. The College operates three main campuses within Broward County, one urban center, and several satellite centers.

With the third-largest enrollment in the Florida College System, the College offers affordable, accessible education.

The College community boasts more than 45,000 students and over 3,000 full-time and part-time faculty and staff, representing more than 100 countries and providing a wealth of cultural, ethnic, and experiential backgrounds.

Up-to-date enrollment and campus community demographic data can be accessed at the link:

http://www.broward.edu/discover/Pages/Fast-Facts.aspx. The College provides over 140 programs in eight career pathways, offering specialized certificates, two- and four-year degrees, non-degree training, workforce readiness, and an extensive list of continuing education curricula.

BACKGROUND

The College generally holds two (2) graduation ceremonies (also referred to hereinafter as “Commencement”) per calendar year, with the flexibility to hold additional ceremonies as needed. Over a three-year period, an estimated six (6) graduation ceremonies will take place. Each commencement celebrates the conferral of more than 2,000 degrees per term.

Photos are taken both prior to the ceremony and during the ceremony of students as they cross the stage. The College has students who enter from both sides of the stage so there are typically two (2) photographers capturing students as they receive their diploma as well as photos on each side of the stage prior to the students walking onto the stage to receive their diploma.

Photos can be taken on green or blue screen in the arena/ commencement venue. Student names are read every two (2) seconds during the ceremony. The College uses a formal stage crossing/handshake posing where the Administrator giving diplomas also faces the camera with the graduate briefly while crossing the stage.

The College currently has a contract with GradImages, a division of Iconic Group, Inc. dba Iconic Group (Florida), Inc. for these services through 06/03/2025.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Request for Letter of Interest (RLI) is to identify a qualified Vendor to provide professional photographic services for the College’s commencement ceremonies. The selected Vendor will partner with the College to capture high-quality photographs that commemorate the significant achievements of the College’s graduates.

Consequently, the College is seeking to establish a mutually beneficial agreement with the single qualified vendor for Commencement Photography Services. The agreement term shall be for three (3) years, with the option to renew for three (3) additional one-year terms, for a total of six (6) years.
