SUBJECT: Responses to Various Requests for Information 002 RFQP0122000002, BIB Juice Beverage Supply – FCI McDowell, WV

Following are responses to questions posed from various vendors regarding the above‐ referenced Request for Quotation (RFQ). Answers provided in this document are for informational and clarification purposes only and do not constitute a change to the solicitation. Changes to the solicitation will be made by amendment of the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation posted at www.fedbizopps.gov.

Q: Can you tell me who currently is providing the BIB machines under the last contract?

A: FCI McDowell is the BOP's newest institution and is just opening in October. This solicitation represents a new requirement and as such, there is no previous contract or provider at this site.

Q: You are asking for a certain dimension of dispensing machine that will produce 300 lb of ice per day and have a size of 25 wide 20 deep and 64 high. The Ice maker dimension is 22 wide 301/2 deep 35 3/8 high. The depth is a problem Understand these dimensions are the foot print in the industry in terms of size for ice makers. On the bottom of the ice maker you still have to add the dispenser itself. You may want to get clarification from your customer as to weather the equipment will accommodate the space available. The ice maker will not accommodate the size your are requesting. You will need a larger dispensing machine. I will need clarification.

A: The combined synopsis/solicitation document has been amended to reflect a change to the space limitation that each machine may not exceed.

Q: You are also asking for a water tap on the machine most machines do not have a "water tap". We can certainly dispense the water through a push button spigot. I will need clarification.

A: The RFQ stipulates that each dispensing unit have a water tap on it. This requirement refers to a small plastic tab or lever to be attached to at least one dispensing nozzle per unit in order to dispense water from unit by itself without being mixed with juice product.

Q: Regarding the straps, locks, or bars issue. Current manufactures do not offer these options on their machines. We will have to custom make something to accommodate the request. I need some clarification.

A: We recognize that straps, locks, and/or bars are not typically required or offered on dispensing units;

however, this requirement is necessary for security purposes in a correctional environment such as FCI McDowell. For illustration purposes only, please view the picture on the next page which is provided to offer insight into this requirement.
