Service Description and History:
Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs (ODVA) is issuing this Request for Quote (RFQ) for the replacement of our current Paxton access control system with a new access control system with Verkada (“the Project”). Currently there are approximately 52 doors which are being controlled by card readers with several more door planned to be added during ODVA’s 2nd floor remodel project currently underway. RFQ S-27400-00012010 Access Control System Replacement Project at ODVA Building Page 2 of 16
The ODVA building was built in 1982, which the building has drop-ceilings in most locations.
However, some hard lids exist, which may require creativity in wire runs and potential drywall repairs. ODVA building has three floors plus and underground parking garage, making the building a total of 122,192 square feet. There is elevator access from the parking garage up to the third floor.
ODVA has conducted market research for the Project and found Verkada to provide the best system for the Agency’s needs and adds flexibility with other services which can be beneficial for the security of our building.
A majority of the second floor of the ODVA building is planned to be under construction toward the middle of 2025. This could provide better opportunity for the successful bidder to pull any wiring into many locations within this space (depending on the timing of this project and the phase of the second-floor remodel project at that time). Coordination between the successful bidder and the Agency Contact will be necessary.
Mandatory Bid Walk:
There will be a mandatory pre-bid walkthrough on Thursday November 21, 2024 at 2:00PM (PST).
This is an opportunity for the bidders to examine conditions, take measurements, and clarify any details or logistics. Please RSVP to Tina Reniere, Single Point of Contact (SPC) via email at:
Tina.H.Reniere@odva.oregon.gov (cc Agency Contact) by 5:00PM (PST) on Wednesday November 20, 2024, if you plan to attend. We will meet in the main lobby of the ODVA building. Parking is available in “vendor parking” adjacent to the SE corner of the ODVA building near the loading dock.
Vehicles must have commercial markings on their vehicle in order to utilize the free “vendor parking” at our building. Otherwise, metered parking is generally available.
Questions and Requests for Clarification:
All questions and requests for clarification regarding this RFQ must be submitted in writing by email, to the Authorized Representative no later than Tuesday November 26, 2024 at 3:00PM.
Project Timeline:
