About this file

This is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document issued by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) in support of Request for Quote (RFQ) PCR 26-0117 for a MultiYear Statewide Deployment project involving 58 fire stations. The project requires vendors to provide and install a comprehensive technology package at each site, including one iPad/tablet command wall-mounted unit, one Central Command Unit (CCU), approximately 10 BunkAlert devices per site, 4 VizAlert units with LED strips, 2 SafeTone units, 6 TacPods, and one TacPod charging station. Installation services must be performed by the selected vendor at all 58 fire stations, and site walks conducted by the vendor are mandatory prior to installation. All equipment must be shipped to the centralized Sacramento Telecommunications Warehouse located at 1227 Striker Ave., Sacramento, CA 95834, with Jared Lees (916-413-4262, Jared.Lees@fire.ca.gov) designated as the primary receiving contact.

The vendor is responsible for verifying adequate 2.4GHz WiFi coverage during each site walk, as devices will operate independently on CAL FIRE-managed networks without requiring CAL FIRE IT validation. Device placement must follow designated specifications across various facility areas including bunks, sleeping quarters, bathrooms, kitchens, gyms, offices, day rooms, hallways, and apparatus bays. CAL FIRE personnel, including Unit staff, IT, and Facilities teams, will not conduct installations. Payment terms are established at Net 45, and the solicitation is open to qualified vendors responding to this statewide deployment opportunity.
