Choate Center Request for Quote (RFQ)
BidBuy Bid # B-31268 Window Coverings for Redbud/Dogwood
Choate Center is seeking custom made window coverings for the windows on two of our living units (Redbud and Dogwood). This RFQ document will describe the desired items with specific characteristics and the various measurements needed for each window.
Fabric The curtains should be made from a solid medium-light gray fabric (lighter than shown below) to add a better non-institutional look to our windows, that will also go with varying room colors. The fabric weight should be medium.
Style We are wanting a simple, single pinch, pleated look as shown in the picture below, with the pleats spaced about 5 inches apart. The full-length curtains (A-E listed below) will consist of two equal-sized panels per window. The edges of each panel should be serged with similar color thread.
Velcro strip For the full-length curtains (A-E listed below), we need a 3/4" Velcro strip sewn into the top back of each panel, similar to the picture below (black strip represents Velcro). Curtains should not be lined.
Tie strap For the full-length curtains (A-E listed below), we need each panel to have a tie strap sewn into the back outer side of each panel, for use like in the picture below. The strap must be the same material as the curtain, about 2 inches wide, and securely sewn into the back about half-way down the panel length, so that the tie strap is not easily seen when not in use. It should be long enough to wrap around the gathered curtain and allow the end to attach to a hook on the wall.
Sizes and quantities needed The different sizes and quantities needed are presented in the table below. Each item # will have a separate line for quoting in BidBuy.
Item #s A-E will need 2 panels (left and right) per window with a side tie strap (of matching fabric) sewn into the back outer side of each panel and a Velcro strip sewn into the top back of each panel.
Item #s F-H will need 1 panel per window and a casing sewn into the top for a hanging rod to fit through.
Item # Description Quantity
A Panel size (29" wide x 106" tall); Velcro top 38 panels
B Panel size (29" wide x 88" tall); Velcro top 10 panels
C Panel size (31" wide x 98" tall); Velcro top 26 panels
D Panel size (31" wide x 82" tall); Velcro top 20 panels
E Panel size (34" wide x 93" tall); Velcro top 4 panels
F Panel size (58" wide x 20" tall); rod casing top 23 panels
G Panel size (50" wide x 20" tall); rod casing top 2 panels
H Panel size (62" wide x 20" tall); rod casing top 8 panels
Confirmation Please submit a picture of the intended fabric choice in BidBuy when submitting your quote. If you are the winning bidder, we will also call to confirm that all specifications are understood before the bid is awarded.
Important - Sample inspection After contract execution, Vendor must provide/deliver the following, before the remaining items listed above are made and delivered.
(These items are to be part of the quantities listed above.)
2 panels (left and right) for item # A above 1 panel for item # F above
This will allow for our inspection and any needed discussion to clear up discrepancies before the remaining items are made. As long as the sample items listed here meet the specifications set forth above, we will provide the go ahead to continue making the remaining items.
