RFQ 6973GH-23-Q-00049 Questions and Answers

(1). Who will be responsible for dismantling and moving equipment and furniture out of area. Per 1.01 D & E on page 1 of the spec, the contractor will be responsible for “Moving of all furniture and equipment as directed by the COR to the engine generator room or outdoors in order to accomplish the above work” and “Protection of permanently installed equipment as stated in this statement of work”. So anything not permanently mounted that can be easily moved out of the way to access the work area should be moved by the contractor and stored and then put back in place by the contractor following work completion. All other equipment/surfaces left in place must be protected from damage.

(2.) Which room or area are you starting first? Can we do both at the same time? Per item 1 above the spec requires the contractor to move/store equipment from the equipment room into the E/G room while the flooring and other work in the equipment room is being done. The plan per 1.06 B. is to take the facility out of service for 4 days to complete the all the interior work. I don’t see a reason why you can work in both areas at the same time as long as you can safely store/protect the furniture and other items that have to be removed.

(3) VCT goes underneath main power units, will it be acceptable to butt up to power unit and work around it? Yes where the old tile/mastic is under permanently mounted equipment please cut the tile up to the edge of the equipment and leave it beneath.

(4) There is only one entrance, Will it be allow to take fan out of window for exhaust for negative air machines? Yes I believe this will be acceptable but please coordinate removal and replacement with Ryan Dernay or whoever the local FAA personal will be acting as the COR on site and store the unit so it won’t be damaged.

(5) What is time factor for inspection upon my completion? I want to tile, mastic and loose lead scrape at same time. ALL in one area then inspection. Is this possible? For any work requiring inspection by the FAA, please coordinate your work plan including any inspections needed during/after work completion in advance of the start of work to make sure the FAA will have someone available so as not to hold you up.
