Total Price (including all labor, materials, overhead and profit)

This requirement will result in the award of a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract in accordance with the specifications of this statement of work (sow). No additional sums will be payable due to any escalation in the cost of materials, equipment, or labor, or because of the Contractor’s failure to properly estimate or accurately predict the prices or difficulty of achieving the results required by this contract. Nor will the contract price be adjusted on account of fluctuations in the currency exchange rates. All manuals shall be furnished in English and Spanish.

A.1 VALUE ADDED TAX

The Contractor shall include VAT as a separate charge on the Invoice and as a separate line item in Section B.

SECTION B - STATEMENT OF WORK

The central aim of this acquisition initiative is to increase vertical storage capacity needed for storage of marine spare parts donated by the U.S. government, optimizing the use of available height without the need to expand the building's footprint. For this purpose, the Contractor shall offer the provision and installation of one (1) modular structural mezzanine with thirty-five (35) industrial storage modules racks, that fulfill or exceed the requirements of the statement of work (SOW) detailed in this document.

The above-mentioned structure shall be delivered and installed in Comando Naval de Pacifico, Km. 109 Aldea Santa Rosa, Puerto San José, Escuintla, Guatemala., in a period of 90 days from the date that the Contractor is notified with the Notice to Proceed (NTP).

The responsibility of the Contractor is to provide and install the previously described structure according to the following:

B.1 PROVISION OF ONE (1) STRUCTURAL MEZZANINE

For a thorough understanding of the requirements, the Contractor must design and deliver one

(1) structural mezzanine with thirty-five (35) industrial storage module racks: modular, constructed of structural steel columns and beams which are connected to each other by couplings and screws and anchored to the ground by bolts.

The mezzanine should be manufactured in accordance with the basic architectural layout outlined in attached drawings. The Contractor will be responsible for providing shop drawings (blueprints) for INL approval that incorporate all design elements.

If the Contractor would like to offer his/her standard designs that meet the specifications, the Contractor shall present these architectural alternatives in his offer, and no substantial changes will be accepted after the contract is awarded. In such cases, the Contractor must incorporate these proposed architectural designs into his/her offer, and will make any adjustment to the different systems to provide all the required services and utilities, all these adjustments shall be performed during the manufacturing process and shall be similar or exceed to the services and utilities detailed in this SOW. If the Contractor does not include any architectural alternative in his offer, it will be understood that the Contractor will provide the modular mezzanine according to INL’s architectural designs detailed in the drawings mentioned above.

The Contractor is required to supply one (1) structural mezzanine with thirty-five (35) industrial storage module racks, meeting the specifications detailed and the basic requirements outlined below:

A. Structural mezzanine:

The modular mezzanine will consist of seventy-five (75m2) square meters, uniformly distributed, requested load of 500kg/m2., constructed of structural steel columns and beams which are connected to each other by couplings and screws and anchored to the ground by bolts. The height must be 2.65 meters for the first half and 3.23 meters for the other half (see shop drawings for details). The modular design will allow disassembly for subsequent transfer or modification.

1. Columns: WF 4” x 12” x 16 pounds/feet, designed for high structural strength, meets ASTM A36, A572 or A992 standards.

2. Base plates: 4.72” x 13.77” x 3/8” made of structural steel, high strength, versatility in welding and versatility in drilling, meets ASTM A36 standards.

3. Primary and secondary beams: W 4” x 8” x 13 pound/feet, designed for high structural strength, meets ASTM A36, A572 or A992 standards.

4. Floor beams: Type “C” 4” x 2”, section of 3/32”, designed for high structural strength, meets ASTM A36, A572 or A992 standards.

5. Floor: Aluminum checkered plate non-slippery 3/32” x 4’ x 8’.

6. Paint: Electrostatic powder coating, oven-dried, gray color, for all structural elements. For chain-link fence poles and profiles: double coating of anticorrosive mate paint gray color.

7. Base system: The columns must be fixed by means of a plate and embedded bolts

(via expansion bolts (M10/M12) or specific kits) to reinforced concrete footing fc= 3000psi minimum of dimensions determined by structural calculation, with a minimum weight of 1.5 tons each, which will be semi-buried and perfectly leveled.

8. Beams and columns anchoring: A36 or A572 steel plates, with a thickness of 3/8".

ASTM F3125 Gr. A325 or A490 screws 3/4" or 7/8" diameter, with standard 13/16" or 15/16" holes, respectively, following AISC design standards. Thread weld to column web on both sides of the plate, edge and bolt spacing must meet AISC standards (typically 1.5 to 2 times the bolt diameter for edge clearances, and 3 times for spacing).

9. Chain-link fence: Must be installed in all the perimeter of the mezzanine that doesn’t have any existent wall, The sections will be constructed of squares of 2m. x 2m., with 2" diameter galvanized poles, spaced every 2 meters and 2 meters high, fixed to the mezzanine structure with bolted or welded bases. No. 11 gauge galvanized mesh, hot dipped galvanized, with a 55x55mm opening, tensioned with a 1/2" x 3/16" flat profile and welded to the poles on the inside. Installation of chain-link fence on the mezzanine (mezzanine) must comply with OSHA fall protection standards (1926.502) and the structure must be able to withstand a force of at least 200 pounds applied in any direction. The plates of the poles must be welded directly to the beams.

10. Metal stairs to access elevated part of mezzanine: stairs must be constructed of Aluminum checkered plate non-slippery 3/32” and handrail of 2” galvanized round pipe, painted with two coats of anti-corrosive mate gray paint.
