About this file

This document is an Addendum to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) issued by the City of Atlanta Department of Procurement on behalf of the Department of Watershed Management for an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Pilot Program. The City is seeking qualified organizations to provide innovative approaches to implement a pilot program to evaluate the transition from the current Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system and existing mechanical meters to an AMI solution with smart meters. The pilot program requires up to 100 meters, with the mix between residential and commercial meters to be determined jointly between the selected vendor(s) and the City. The proposal due date has been extended to March 25, 2024. The City expects to select two vendors to each perform a six-month pilot, with the final phase being implementation with the City's new Meter Data Management (MDM) system, COMPASS.

The City has a 20% Small Business Enterprise (SBE) subcontracting goal for this project, but there are no payment or performance bond requirements for the pilot program. The City will provide further details on meter locations, sizes, and conditions to the selected vendor(s). The City also anticipates a full AMI deployment could take up to five years or longer following the pilot program.
