The system must be capable of producing, at a minimum, two hundred (200) gallons of brine per minute or six thousand (6,000) gallons of brine per hour (based on available water supply of six thousand (6,000) gallons per hour and storage tank configuration static discharge of forty-five (45) feet head pressure) and at a minimum meet the following.

2 LIST OF MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SALT HOPPER:

2.1. The salt hopper must have a minimum capacity of four point five (4.5) cubic yards;

2.2. The minimum inside dumping width must be no less than one hundred twenty (120) inches;

2.3. The salt hopper must be constructed of sixteen thousand (16,000)-pound tensile-strength fiberglass and isophthalic resin with all inside surfaces coated with a ceramic resin zero point zero five zero (0.050) inches thick;

2.4. The vessel must have structural integral ribs allowing flex with the salt hopper from full to empty.

2.5. The salt hopper must be capable of being cleaned via flush components of the unit, and any disassembly of components for cleaning is not acceptable;

2.6. Whether full or empty, the salt hopper must be able to be cleaned by opening the sump outlet cap and water flush valves. If the salt hopper is empty, the inside floor panel must have the capability of being removed for cleaning by attached lifting straps or another method allowing easy removal of the inside floor panel;

2.8. All valves, bulkhead fittings, and related components one (1) inch and larger must be manifold-type fittings;

2.9. There must be a pressure transducer connected to the PLC to activate brine pump on and off and water flow into the salt tank. These levels must be adjustable from the HMI interface and adjustable to within one (1)-inch increments and;

2.10. The transducer must have an air capillary to the inside of the salt hopper.

3 AUTOMATIC BRINE MAKER PRODUCTION SYSTEM EQUIPMENT

4.5.2 Gallons of fresh water used to make brine;

4.6 If the brine concentration is above the target, the brine must be returned to the salt tank until the correct amount of water is automatically added and the desired concentration is reached;

4.7 Once the brine is at the desired concentration (plus or minus three percent (±3%) of target concentration), the brine will be diverted to storage tanks;

4.8 If the concentration is below the minimum desired concentration, the system must automatically divert the brine to the salt tank for a second pass through the salt bed;

4.9 The system must accept a signal from a pressure transducer located in a storage tank to automatically stop brine production when the tank is full or when the production batch is complete;

4.14 The system must include a parallel manual valve system for redundant operation;

4.15 Electric components mounted on the control panel must have UL-rated conduit protecting all external wiring;

4.16 Components over ten (10) amps must have circuit breakers. Components ten (10) amps or less must be fuse-protected, with illuminated diagnostic fault indication;

4.17 All wetted control panel parts, except the pump, must be manifold-type glass-filled polypropylene rated for one hundred fifty (150) psi or schedule eighty (80) PVC rated for two hundred seventy (270) psi;
