This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) Addendum related to a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Archival Records Shelving by the Archives of Michigan (AoM). The AoM is seeking to purchase Spacesaver or compatible rail systems and high-density mobile shelving to maximize storage capacity within their existing footprint. The RFP requires bidders to provide 4 single-faced and 36 double-faced cantilever units, utilizing the customer's existing steel shelf pans. The customer is responsible for disassembling and moving the existing shelving, as well as carpeting the decking. No drawings were provided, and bidders were expected to visit the site to take measurements. The RFP specifies that the solution should maximize the shelving space within the given footprint, and that there are no union, prevailing wage, or other installation requirements.
Regarding pricing, the RFP indicates that Spacesaver or compatible systems are preferred to maintain consistency with other units within the AoM. Bidders are not required to utilize the existing shelving along the wall in the new installation area, and are encouraged to propose the solution that provides the most storage space.
