About this file
This is a Request for Proposals (RFP #GCPL-2401) issued by Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL) for the deployment of wireless access points across 15 of their 16 facilities. The RFP seeks vendors to provide and install Wi-Fi 6 and/or Wi-Fi 6E access points to replace their current infrastructure of 147 APs, with proposals due by February 28, 2025, at 3:00 PM ET. Written questions are due by February 14, 2025, with responses published by February 21, 2025. The evaluation committee will review proposals March 3-5, 2025, conduct interviews March 6-7, 2025, and present the contract to the Library Board in March 2025. The project includes installing new APs, optimizing placement, addressing areas with low signal strength, and providing all necessary mounting hardware and cabling.
The RFP requires vendors to provide separate line item costs for AP licensing, hardware, and installation by location, with optional managed internal broadband services (MIBS) available. The current environment consists primarily of general-purpose two-radio APs (2x2:2 MR33) and some high-density four-radio APs (4x4:4 MR45) using a combination of Meraki and Fortinet equipment. Vendors must provide both leasing and purchasing options for the equipment, along with a 5-year warranty on all wiring and mounting. The library will evaluate proposals based on multiple criteria, not solely on cost. The RFP includes detailed floor plans showing existing AP locations and areas of low signal strength for all facilities except the Snellville location.
