SECTION B - SUPPLIES OR SERVICES AND PRICES/COSTS

ARTICLE B.1. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES OR SERVICES

This Phase 2 project, R3-Impact, aims to satisfy the legislative requirements outlined in the SUPPORT Act by replicating a recovery coaching intervention for families engaged in the child welfare system due to parental substance use disorders (SUD) and conducting the pilot study, implementation study, and initial phases of the impact study. The R3-Impact project has two primary goals. The first goal is to execute a rigorous impact evaluation on the replication of the recovery coaching intervention(s). The impact evaluation will be informed by the conduct of a pilot study and will add to what is known about the effectiveness of the intervention(s) in helping parents achieve positive recovery and reunification outcomes in the shorter term. The second goal is to execute an implementation evaluation that analyzes the processes for the pilot and impact studies and informs future replication and evaluation efforts. These goals encapsulate ACF’s interest in understanding whether recovery coaching interventions yield successful parental SUD recovery and permanency outcomes, and if so, whether the potential exists to scale the recovery coaching intervention(s) for the benefit of more affected families.
