About this file
This is an Insurance Coverage Requirements document for the Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) in Michigan applicable to the Romney Building Masonry Repairs contract opportunity. The document establishes mandatory insurance provisions that contractors must maintain throughout the contract performance period. Contractors are required to obtain Commercial General Liability insurance with minimum coverage limits of $2,000,000 for General Aggregate Limit (other than Products/Completed Operations), $2,000,000 for Products/Completed Operations Aggregate Limit, $1,000,000 for Personal & Advertising Injury Limit, and $1,000,000 for Each Occurrence Limit. Additionally, if motor vehicles are utilized to provide services or products under the contract, contractors must maintain vehicle liability insurance covering owned, hired, and non-owned vehicles for bodily injury and property damage as required by law. The State of Michigan, including its departments, divisions, agencies, offices, commissions, officers, employees, and agents, must be listed as additional insureds on all liability certificates, and policies must contain a waiver of subrogation by the insurance company.
All subcontractors working under the primary contractor must either obtain identical insurance coverage or be included under the contractor's existing insurance policies, with failure to comply not limiting the contractor's liability or responsibility. Successful bidders must provide Certificates of Insurance on the standard Acord form or equivalent to DTMB Financial Services-Operations Division, Delegated Procurement Unit prior to purchase order issuance. The certificates must identify the service location and be prepared and submitted directly by the insurance provider to the specified address at the Elliot-Larsen Building in Lansing, Michigan. Failure to provide the necessary certificates of insurance prior to purchase order issuance will result in the award being transferred to the next competitive bidder.
