About this file

This document is an Addendum to Request for Proposals (RFP) 23-006 issued by the Salem Area Mass Transit District (SAMTD) in Salem, Oregon. SAMTD is soliciting bids to remove and dispose of the existing above-ground OMER Vega 240/50 parallelogram vehicle lift and install a new above-ground vehicle lift in the Maintenance Shop at the Del Webb facility. The project will be performed under a single prime contract, with an estimated Notice of Intent to Award in May 2023, service completion in June 2023, and final completion by November 2023. The Addendum provides responses to questions raised during the pre-bid conference held on March 13, 2023, which is also documented in the attached agenda and attendance sheet.

The RFP requires the successful bidder to be licensed by the State of Oregon, obtain all necessary permits and licenses, and comply with applicable safety requirements. No height restrictions are specified for the replacement lift, which should have a minimum 73-inch rise and a 32-foot platform length. The lift structure should be hot-dipped galvanized where possible, and the platform should include an anti-skid surface.

RFP 23-006 Addendum #1

SALEM AREA MASS TRANSIT DISTRICT

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

RFP 23-006

DEL WEBB STEAM BAY VEHICLE LIFT

ADDENDUM #1

Salem Area Mass Transit District is providing information and making changes / additions / modifications / revisions as an Addendum to RFP 23-006.

The following changes, clarifications and SAMTD responses to questions posed to date are hereby provided to all proposers:

1. Question: Are there any height restrictions for the replacement lift?

Answer: No. There is a roof, but ample height to fully lift a full sized bus.

2. Question: Does the location of the lift have a drive thru?

Answer: The lift is a drive through unit.

3. Question: Drawings included in the specification show a 73” rise – will 73” rise be acceptable as a minimum raised height?

Answer: Yes

4. Question: Drawings included in the specification reflect a 26’ Platform Length, while the Pit Dimension reflects a 32’ Platform Length. Can you confirm platforms shall be formed to 32’ lengths?

Answer: Yes. The platform overlaps the concrete portion of the pit when lowered to allow for driving onto and off the ramp.

5. Question: Shall the entire lift structure (including the Platforms & Lifting Legs) be of hot-dipped galvanization construction?

Answer: Where possible. The intent is to protect wear items from excessive moisture.

RFP 23-006 Addendum #1

6. Question: The current lift has an anti-skid surface on the platform – shall the new lift include an Anti-Skid surface on the platforms?

Answer: An anti-skid platform is preferable.

7. Question: Can you provide the Manufacturer Serial Number and Year of the current lift.

Answer: The information is as follows

Identification: OMER VEGA 240/50
