About this file
This document is a request for proposal (RFP) issued by the Suwannee River Water Management District (District) for Insurance Broker Services. The District is seeking a broker to procure health, dental, vision, group term life, and long-term disability insurance for its employees. The selected broker will collaborate with the District's Office of Human Resources to secure these insurances at or above the current level of service and at a reasonable and fair price. The insurances are provided as benefits to the District's employees, with a minimum of 64 current full-time employees and a maximum of 66. The RFP includes questions and answers posted on August 25, 2022, providing details on the current insurance plans, demographics, and plan administration.
The District's current insurance broker is Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. dba Gallagher, who is compensated through carrier commissions. The District is required to competitively bid for insurance services pursuant to Florida statute. The District is fully funded for its insurance plans and is focused on securing the best possible coverage at the lowest rates as a good steward of state and federal funds. The RFP does not mention any set-asides or specific funding sources, but the District's goal is to maintain or improve the current level of insurance benefits for its employees at a reasonable cost.
