Issued by: This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued by UT-Battelle, management and operating contractor of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for the US Dept. of Energy

(DOE).

Background: ORNL is a multi-program science and technology laboratory managed for the DOE by UT-Battelle, LLC. Scientists and engineers at ORNL conduct basic and applied research and development to create scientific knowledge and technological solutions that strengthen the nation's leadership in key areas of science; increase the availability of clean, abundant energy; restore and protect the environment; and contribute to national security. UT- Battelle offers relocation services to newly hired employees. As a prime contractor to DOE, the relocation services that UT-Battelle offers to employees must comply with our prime contract, which includes some Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), as noted below. We currently manage all functions related to employee relocation. In an effort to reduce costs and better serve our employees, UT-Battelle is considering a turnkey subcontract for employee relocation services.

We currently offer a range of relocation packages based on the circumstances of each hire. In general, the packages may include:

• A lump sum payment for incidentals

• Household goods move per Federal Travel Regulations (FTR)

• Vehicle transfer (mileage to drive or transport)

• Transfer of employee and family to Oak Ridge (per FTR)

• Some continuing ownership expenses for the former residence (we do not offer a home purchase option)

• Temporary housing in Oak Ridge

• Home purchase expenses

• Temporary storage of household goods

UT-Battelle will consider alternative relocation package strategies as part of this effort as long as they comply with the terms of our Prime Contract.
