Q1. RE: " Site will use a slider for all top stories" Is there a reason for this specific design decision? The emphasis on top stories is evident.
A1: Per the request of our Dean here at the GCMC, they require a specific design and outline to meet the project requirements, this is the needs of our customer.
Q2. RE: "End user training and technical maintenance will berequired prior to end of contract performance" What is the scope of training? Who will be updating the website? How many people need training? Is GCMC open to outsourcing the maintenance of the website?
A2: We require training documentation to be written so we can train the trainer, and also train some power users for content management. We will have Content Managers responsible for updating content. There will be a small group of about 5-10 users, but wewould require documentation and a train the trainer session. Maintenance of the website will not be outsourced outside of the GCMC.
Q3. Are there other features Drupal specifically provides? Or benefits GCMC is seeking based on recommendations? Does GCMC plan to customize the CMS? Does GCMC have staff to augment and build upon it? To manage the web server, or just use the service from a service provider?
A3: We currently have our GlobalNet running on Drupal, and would like to stay with a platform that is current in use, and we can expand our knowledge on this current platform.
Q4. What is your current hosting environment and is the redesigned site expected to remain on this environment?
A4: Our Current environment is using Windows 2008R2 and running IIS, running Jumla. We do not plan on keeping the old environment after we have moved all of our data over to new platform.

A6: No. Content tagging will be performed by GCMC personnel.
Q7. Will the redesigned website be approximately be the same numberof pages as the current site? (http://www.marshallcenter.org/mcpublicweb/) A7: No we are looking at a complete redesign of our external site.
Q8. What is your timeframe to launch the site or award the contract?
A8: Approximately 6 months from start to finish
Q9. Whether companies from Outside Germany can apply for this?
A9: Yes, however for security requirements, the assigned web developer will be working onsite and will either need to be a US Citizen or have lived in Germany for one year in order to initiate the required background check.
Q10. Whether we need to come over there for meetings?
A10. We will require the web developer to work onsite alongside with GCMC personnel. It has not yet been determined to what extent the web developer will be required to be onsite.
