About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document related to a Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) RFI for an Enterprise Content Management System modernization effort. The document contains multiple vendor questions and FBOP responses regarding technical requirements, current systems, and implementation details.

Key details revealed include: the current system is IBM DB2 Content Manager running on IBM Mainframe zOS platform; FEDRAMP certification is required with capability up to High level; approximately 1,200 users will access the system; Labor Law is the priority functional area for implementation; the system must support various file types including word, images, video, and PDF with OCR capabilities; FBOP maintains an Enterprise Cloud Platform but is open to vendor hosting if FEDRAMP certified; funding is anticipated but timing is uncertain; and the system will consolidate multiple case management applications, with plans to eventually separate legal and procurement aspects. The current environment uses Salesforce CRM and a mixture of cloud-based systems. Questions about case volumes are unanswered, awaiting input from "Karen."

Could the agency share the details about the systems being referred to here?

Answer: FEDRAMP is the standard. This system, dependent on data types, can go up to a high.

Question: Should we expect integrations? If so, could you please share the list of systems we need to integrate with? Will the new system communicate with the present systems, such as SENTRY, TRULINCS, etc.? What are the other systems, tools, and applications that the BOP would like this system to integrate with?

Answer: No. The FBOP would like to understand offerings for the requested solution prior identifying current or future integrations.
