About this file
This is a Special Notice announcing an Industry Day event affiliated with the 2026 Department of War (DoW) Maintenance Symposium. The event will be held December 8–11, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and will feature exclusive one-on-one sessions between industry representatives and DoW leadership focused on the expansion of the Regional Sustainment Framework (RSF) into the United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) and United States Pacific Command (USPACOM), specifically Southeast Asia theaters.
The RSF, introduced in May 2024, aims to develop distributed regional co-sustainment capabilities by collaborating with allies, partners, and the U.S. and international defense industrial bases to support military weapon systems and operations in contested logistics environments. For SOUTHCOM, the Department seeks strategies to establish a resilient, distributed co-sustainment network leveraging existing industrial bases, commercial logistics infrastructure, and maritime facilities in partner nations to sustain common weapon systems, tactical aviation, and maritime platforms within the theater. For PACOM, the objective is to build a resilient defense ecosystem in the Indo-Pacific through regional alignment with allies, partners, and the Defense Industrial Base. Companies interested in participating must submit a request packet by November 13, 2026, to osd.pentagon.ousd-a-s.mbx.rid@mail.mil, including company information, designated point of contact, expertise overview, and specific responses addressing RSF alignment, regional MRO barriers, required incentives, and co-sustainment opportunities. Request packets are limited to three pages. The Department will review submissions and notify companies of scheduled session times, though scheduling limitations may prevent all companies from securing a session. This is not a solicitation, and participation is voluntary with costs borne by participants. Industry Day Coordinators are Mr. Andrew J. Woltman (571-256-0634; Andrew.j.woltman.civ@mail.mil) and Mr. James C. Carroll (215-565-6559; james.c.carroll33.ctr@mail.mil).

2026 DOW Maintenance Symposium Industry Day:
Regional Sustainment Framework Expansion
(USSOUTHCOM)
SPECIAL NOTICE
Join us at the 2026 Department of War (DoW) Maintenance Symposium for exclusive one-on-one Industry Day sessions with DOW leaders, focusing on the expansion of the Regional Sustainment Framework (RSF) implementation into the United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) and United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) – specifically South East (SE) Asia theaters.
👥👥 Industry Day at the 2026 DOW Maintenance Symposium
The Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Sustainment is excited to announce focused one-on-one Industry Day sessions with industry scheduled for December 8–11, 2026, in conjunction with the annual DOW Maintenance Symposium in Fort Lauderdale, FL. These sessions will provide industry with the opportunity to discuss the Department's expansion of the RSF into the USSOUTHCOM and USPACOM (SE Asia) theater. The RSF aims to bring sustainment for military weapon systems closer to where they are needed.
🌐🌐 DOW RSF
In May 2024, the DOW introduced the RSF to enhance regional sustainment processes.
This initiative aligns with both the 2026 Interim National Defense Strategic Guidance and the National Defense Industrial Strategy. The RSF aims to develop distributed regional co-sustainment capabilities closer to where they are needed by collaborating with allies, partners, and the U.S. and international defense industrial bases to support the Joint and Combined Force more effectively. RSF is crucial for operations in contested environments where traditional methods of retrograding materials for repair and maintenance are becoming less feasible.
📅📅 Event Details
Event 2026 DOW Maintenance Symposium – Industry Day
Dates December 8–11, 2026
Location Fort Lauderdale, FL
Focus RSF Implementation in USSOUTHCOM, USPACOM (SE Asia)
🎯🎯 Primary Goals for RSF
• Prevail in a Contested Logistics Environment: Optimize and align weapon system product support strategies to establish a viable distributed co-sustainment ecosystem.
• Enhance Military Readiness: Collaborate with the defense industrial base and allies and partners to build regionally focused sustainment strategies that increase readiness and deter aggression.
• Strengthen Regional Partnerships: Develop co-sustainment strategies promoting joint/allied regional capability and capacity to expand repair network across warfighting domains.
🔗🔗 Additional details regarding RSF are available at: https://www.acq.osd.mil/asds/docs/RSF-9MAY24.pdf
🎯🎯 Regional Focused Objectives
• SOUTHCOM: In alignment with the Department's Regional Sustainment Framework (RSF) and the projected Fiscal Year 2026 integration for the U.S.
Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR), the Government is seeking strategies to establish a resilient, distributed co-sustainment network along the Pacific-facing theater of the AOR. The primary objective is to leverage the existing industrial bases, commercial logistics infrastructure, and maritime facilities of highly receptive partner nations. By integrating these localized Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) nodes, the Department intends to sustain common weapon systems, tactical aviation, and maritime platforms directly within the theater. This forward-postured approach is designed to mitigate contested logistics challenges, ensure rapid readiness regeneration, and significantly reduce the need for long-distance equipment retrograde to the continental United States (CONUS).
• PACOM: Build a resilient defense ecosystem in the Indo-Pacific by aligning regional strategies with allies, partners, and the Defense Industrial Base to ensure readiness and lethality support in contested logistics.
