QuestionAnswer
Are Scaled Drawings available, if so please post.See scale at bottom right of all drawing sheets except for E2.2, E3.1 and E3.2
Are Ceilings Suspended? Or Hard Lid?Most of the ceilings are lay-in. Some areas may have hard ceiling. You will need to field verify during walk-thru.
Are there existing Cable Trays for wiring above ceilings? No.
Can Existing Wiring be utilized?See specification section 260100-1
Is a “UPS” required? If so, What Time/Power Duration is required?UPS unit is not required under this project. Existing UPS units (already serving camera equipment will be re-used)
Are “Or Equal” Equipment substitutions allowed?See specification section 28 21 00
Is “Plenum Wire” acceptable? All camera locations that we are aware of have conduit to the camera units so plenum rated cabling should not be required. Design intent is to install new cabling within existing conduits. However, if in the course of work the contractor finds that conduit is missing for a camera location, one of the two following solutions would be required:
1.¾”Conduit with CAT6 cabling (non-plenum rated) be installed for the length of run required OR
2.Provide CAT 6 cable (plenum-rated) for the length of run required and providing cable support as required per NEC.
Is “After Hours Access” for said work, available to contractor at no add’l cost to the Gov’t?After hours work may be permitted with prior approval from the Contracting Officer. 7 days advance notice is required for approval.
What is the height of Exterior Cameras? (If any)Height of the exterior cameras will match the existing installations. You will need to field verify this during walk-thru.
Please provide/post other “Q & A” requests.Will post to Sam.gov
Please provide a list of equipment to be installed.See drawing E3.2
Can the Government please provide the hardware and software configuration of the GFE Genetec Head End equipment? The contractor will be responsible for determining the existing configuration of exisitng Gentec equipment to ensure compatibility of new camera system.
For clarification: Does the 15-year cabling warranty start upon completion of the camera upgrade project?Yes. The warranty begins upon completion of the camera project.
BiCSi is one of a number of industry certifications for cable installers. Rather than require a specific installer certification, can the contractor provide test results for the cabling, using an industry-standard cable tester, that certifies the actual installation meets TIA standards? We would accept actual test data. However, we would also require the test instrument used along with the last date of calibration of that instrument.
Rather than require that the contractor be an Elite Reseller of Genetec equipment, is it acceptable that the contractor utilize a Genetec-certified technician to upgrade and program the GFE Genetec Head End equipment? It would be acceptable to use Gentec certified technician.
Would the Government please extend the due date by 2 weeks to 10:00 AM 21 Sep 2022 to allow additional time to incorporate the answers to these questions into our response? No further extensions will be accepted. 14 Sept 2022 is the final due date
