About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of the Academy and Training to obtain information regarding different physical fitness testing options for law enforcement officer applicants and sworn officers. The ISP currently uses a four-item physical fitness inventory test from the Cooper Institute, but is seeking information on practical and efficient ways to test upper body strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular abilities. The RFI invites participants to submit non-proprietary, non-price information about the availability of specified types of supplies and services, and the ISP is particularly interested in law enforcement-specific physical fitness testing options for the purpose of establishing new procedures and standards. The RFI responses are due by August 13, 2020 at 5:00 PM Central Time.
The RFI does not provide any details on pricing structures or actual costs, as the ISP is prohibited from receiving such information, which could disqualify organizations from participating in future related procurements. The RFI also states that all submissions will be made public, and that responding to the RFI is not a prerequisite to participate in any future procurement, nor does it obligate the state to conduct a future procurement.
