About this file
This Request for Information (RFI) No. 1012-27-107 is issued by the Research Triangle Regional Public Transportation Authority, dba GoTriangle, a public transportation agency in North Carolina. GoTriangle seeks vendor information regarding commercially available solutions for a GTFS Rider Alert Notification System that would serve four transit agencies: GoTriangle, GoCary, GoDurham, and GoRaleigh. Each agency currently utilizes a different GTFS structure (Avail, TripSpark x2, and Clever). The RFI was published on November 4, 2026, with responses due via email to Steven Jones, Procurement Officer at sjones@gotriangle.org by November 18, 2026. This is a market research inquiry and does not constitute a commitment to purchase any product or service.
GoTriangle seeks a unified system that consolidates each agency's GTFS data into a single data integration supporting both static and real-time feeds. The desired solution must enable alert distribution through multiple channels, including email to database subscribers organized by agency and route, push notifications to third-party transit applications (Google Maps, Apple Maps, Transit App, UMO), and website embedding via WordPress. SMS functionality is noted as a desirable but not currently required feature. Vendors are required to complete a solution capabilities matrix, provide a company profile including public-sector experience and relevant security certifications, outline implementation strategy with deployment timelines and licensing structures, and offer strategic recommendations addressing GoTriangle's technical environment. GoTriangle will not reimburse vendors for response preparation costs. All submissions are subject to North Carolina Public Records Law, with trade secret information protected only if explicitly marked as confidential at the time of disclosure.

BACKGROUND
The Research Triangle Regional Public Transportation Authority, dba GoTriangle, is seeking information from qualified vendors regarding commercially available solutions for GTFS Rider Alert Systems for four (4) agencies.
Each Agency utilizes a different GTFS structure. (Avail, TripSpark x2, Clever).
GoTriangle manages GTFS alert systems for itself and 3 other agencies. GoCary, GoDurham, and GoRaleigh.
GoTriangle is exploring options that utilize each agencies GTFS and “bundles” them all into a single data integration (Static and/or Real-Time). This allows alerts to be issued by way of emailing subscribers via a connected database by agency and route (Existing), push notifying applications such as google maps, Apple maps, Transit App, UMO, etc., and has the ability to be embed on our websites (Wordpress).
SMS functionality is a plus but isn't currently required.
SOLUTION CAPABILITES MATRIX
Please complete the matrix below to indicate support for our key functional areas, noting if features rely on third-party products, custom development, or extra modules. Feel free to expand the matrix or provide additional detail where helpful.
Capability Supported?
(Yes / No / Partial) Description / Notes

Connected to GTFS Route files by agency.
