The RFI requires vendors to provide detailed plaque components including a 12"x8.625" black aluminum plate with laser-engraved gold text, a 12"x9" shadowbox frame with walnut stain, FBI seal and laurel wreath emblems, and anniversary service pins ranging from 10 to 35 years. Specific design specifications include placement of FBI emblems, precise measurements, and mounting requirements.

Vendors must submit capability packages by 5:00 PM EST on May 28, 2025, including company information, GSA Schedule details, and a physical sample shipped to the FBI Facilities Services Unit in Washington, DC. Division (FFD), National Capitol Region Section (NCRS), Facilities Services Unit (FSU). The information gathered may be used to formulate acquisition strategies for competitive solicitations.

BACKGROUND

The FBI, FFD, NCRS, FSU is requesting samples of customized plaques that contain high quality material to last as a keepsake, for employees for innumerable years.

There are various types of recognition and honors an employee may receive. They require engraving and may vary in description. This will involve utilizing print, electronic, or other media to meet the FBI’s graphic needs.

The objective of the Request for Information (RFI) is to obtain sample plaques that meet the FBI requirements and specifications for evaluation purposes in order to verify capabilities for seamless integration into the existing FBI environment. The plaques shall meet the following specifications.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE RFI

Version 1.2 Page 2

The requirements are as follows:

• Plaques are laser engraved on a 12”x8.625” Aluminum plate that is painted black and lasers away to show gold, giving it a black background and gold text.

• All engraving is performed on the left side of the plate, along with guidelines for holes that need to be drilled through the plate and for emblems to be adhered or screwed into place.

• From the top of the plate, for Professional Staff without badges, a 1.625” FBI Emblem is placed approximately 1.5” inches down from the top of the plate, between a 3”x4.125” laurel wreath emulating the “Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity” banner and laurels from the FBI seal. Agents and Professional Staff with badges will have a hole drilled between the laurels.

• Beneath the laurels and .625” above the tops of the lowercase letters of the Employee’s name, 1.25” tall gold painted anniversary emblems are placed, evenly spaced, for however many years the employee qualifies up to 5 emblems in total.

• The completed plate is secured into a 12”x9” (outer size) shadowbox frame. Once secured in, a piece of foam board is used to give space between the screws from the laurel and the clean black rail board backing to give it a more professional look.

• Felt circles are placed in the bottom two corners of the backing and a tooth hanger is fastened into the center top of the frame.

Vendor must provide all parts of the plaque:

- Shadowbox frame o 1.5 inches deep, with the item being set .25 inches from the back of the frame.

These frames would fit an item that is 12” x 9”, have a walnut stain (does not need to be walnut wood) and a .25” matte black line painted on the flat portion of the front before it does a concave curve. The molding is 1” wide and 1.5” deep/tall.

- Engraving Plates o Black with Gold Text
