About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought notice issued by Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA), operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), seeking expressions of interest for Electron Ion Collider (EIC) B1pF Collar Lamination Welding services. The notice is dated December 12, 2024, with responses due by January 3, 2025.

The RFI seeks information from potential suppliers regarding their capabilities to: weld parts to a strength of 5000 lbs as specified in prints, provide in-house weld strength testing equipment, create welding fixtures, perform post-weld measurements using equipment like CMM, and provide budgetary estimates for these services. The work is related to a new Nuclear Physics Facility that will study nucleon structure through collisions between polarized ions and electrons. Interested parties must submit responses electronically to William Koncelik (wkoncelik@bnl.gov) with reference to BSA RFI 12092024WPK in the subject line. The notice explicitly states this is not a Request for Proposal and no solicitation exists at this time.
