The contract encompasses preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, rebuild services, and emergency response for eight traveling water screen units (four REX Model 4-post designs with 6-foot basket width and four with 10-foot basket width), one Traversing Bracket Bosker Weed Screen Cleaner, multiple Infilco Degremont Climber Screen/Bar Screen units across various locations, Huber Technology Multi-Rake Bar Screen equipment, and Headworks Bar Screen units. Preventive maintenance tasks are scheduled quarterly and semi-annually, including chain inspections, sprocket examinations, bearing assessments, and lubrication services. Services are required at seven primary facilities including Hemphill Water Treatment Plant, Chattahoochee Water Treatment Plant, Utoy Creek Water Reclamation Center, South River Water Reclamation Center, RM Clayton Water Reclamation Center, Intrenchment Creek Water Reclamation Center, and multiple pumping stations and combined sewer overflow facilities throughout Atlanta.
The contractor must respond to emergency situations threatening the city's water supply within 24 hours and address corrective maintenance requests within 14 days of receipt. Contractors must be manufacturer-certified representatives or authorized service providers for each equipment type specified and demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience providing maintenance and repair services for traveling screens at water and wastewater facilities, with successful completion of at least three comparable projects within the past five years. The customer will supply power, permits, welding and cutting equipment, electrical disconnection and reconnection services, all required lubricants, and roll-off dumpsters for waste disposal. Contractors must submit travel charges, per-day service crew rates, any additional charges for delays beyond their control, and the percentage markup above invoice price for materials. The City of Atlanta anticipates conducting a pre-solicitation conference and a multi-step sealed bid process including a prequalification phase to evaluate vendor experience and qualifications before issuing the formal Invitation for Bid.
