Response to RFIs Received by the Forest Service
12970223Q0055 – Clearwater Station Tank Replacement
Sierra National Forest
1. After talking with the tank manufacture the tank footprint will most likely be around 23’ in diameter and 14’ high and the foundation will be much thicker than what was called out in the solicitation.
Does this matter?
a. The final diameter of the tank will depend on the manufacture/vendor. It would be anticipated that the final diameter of the thank would be in the range of 21-25 ft including the concrete ring around the tank.
2. Lead time on the tank is 20 weeks, so it doesn’t fit in the requested timeframe. Will the period of performance/start time be pushed out?
a. The lead time for the tank was not included in the original anticipated project completion of 45 days. Therefore, the contract Period of Performance will be approximately 150 days (105 days for ordering and delivering of water tank, 45 days for installation & other project on-the-ground work).
3. The solicitation references “drawings”. The Docs in SAM.Gov do not have any drawings that point specifically to how it all needs to be connected, as far as the hydrant and related valves and boxes.
Are there drawings out there, that I am missing?
a. The system would be installed per manufactures recommendations (hydrant, valves, tank, etc.)
4. Is there a possibility to extend the due date?
a. Yes, the submission date has been extended to June 2, 2023.
5. Is there a cost estimate, budget, or ballpark figure for the project listed?
a. The magnitude of the project is listed in the solicitation – however, the Government will consider and evaluate all quotes received.
6. Is there an actual start date for the project?
a. The Government anticipates awarding the contract by June 12, 2023; however, project work will depend on when all supplies and equipment (ie water tank, hydrant) can be delivered to the site location.
