About this file
The document is a Response to Offeror Questions related to Dakota State University's Applied Research Lab Facility Security System project in Madison, South Dakota. The Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks a security systems integrator to design, supply, install, and commission a comprehensive security system for a new 100,000-square-foot research facility located in Sioux Falls. Proposals are due by April 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM CDT, with an anticipated award and contract negotiation on April 30, 2025. The project targets completion by August 2026 and requires installation of security management suite, access control, video surveillance, and intercom/communication systems across three floors and gated parking areas.
The project involves specific technical requirements, including Genetec Security Management Suite, HID credential readers, Zenitel video intercoms, and Axis network cameras with varied resolutions. Key contract details include U.S. citizenship requirements for all construction workers, with documentation needed for worker access. Network switches will be provided by Dakota State University, and the electrical contractor will handle telecom/data infrastructure and fire alarm cabling. Subcontracting is permitted for specific installations like turnstiles and gates, with requirements to disclose subcontractor details. The contract will include 5 years of software support covering updates, technical assistance, and troubleshooting. While no specific budget is mentioned, the complex nature of the security infrastructure suggests a significant technological investment.
