3. SCOPE OF WORK
a) The installation services of the residential emergency generator set shall meet the Standard Residential Generator Installation details by OBO.
b) Construction of a concrete platform XX meters long, XX meter wide, and XX meters in thickness designed to withstand a nominal load of 2000 kg and exposed to vibration. The concrete platform must be reinforced with steel rods
X/X inch in diameter. The contractor shall perform all the necessary work to remove gardens and adapt the area to install the residential emergency generator, including the removal of ornamental plants, palm trees, and related vegetation.
c) The platform must be constructed using high-quality concrete mix to ensure durability and longevity, especially given the exposure to constant vibration from the generator. The steel reinforcement should be placed according to engineering specifications to provide additional strength and stability to the platform.
d) The standard that concrete must meet for resistance testing is typically specified by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The relevant standard for concrete compressive strength testing is ASTM C39/C39M - "Standard Test Method for Compressive Strength of Cylindrical
Concrete Specimens." This standard outlines the procedures for testing the compressive strength of concrete using cylindrical specimens.
e) Additionally, the concrete mix design should comply with ACI 318 - "Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete," which provides guidelines for concrete quality, mixing, and placement to ensure it meets the required strength and durability criteria.
f) Additionally, the contractor is responsible for ensuring that the site is properly leveled and compacted before the construction of the platform begins. This includes the removal of any debris, roots, or other obstructions that may affect the integrity of the platform.
g) The contractor must also take care to protect any existing structures or utilities in the vicinity of the construction site. This may involve coordinating with utility companies to ensure that no underground lines are damaged during the excavation and construction process.
h) Once the platform is constructed, the contractor should ensure that it is properly cured to achieve the desired strength and durability. This may involve covering the platform with a curing compound or wet burlap to retain moisture during the curing process.
i) Finally, the contractor should restore the surrounding area to its original condition as much as possible, including replanting any displaced vegetation or making other landscaping adjustments as needed. This will ensure that the installation of the emergency generator has minimal impact on the overall aesthetics and functionality of the property.
j) By following these detailed instructions, the contractor will ensure that the concrete platform is constructed to the highest standards, providing a stable and durable base for the residential emergency generator.
k) The Contractor shall remove all garbage from the premises after work is finished. The Contractor shall clean, wash and remove debris, undergrowth or weed in garden area, garden walls, garden floor tiles and corridors. Repair affected areas in garden.
