About this file

This is a requirements document for the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) soliciting bids for liquid calcium chloride delivery to designated DOT garages statewide for winter operations. The procurement involves the supply and delivery of liquid calcium chloride in quantities ranging from a minimum order of 1,000 gallons up to full truckloads. The document does not specify total contract quantity, contract term, response date, or award date. Purchase orders will be issued on an as-needed basis throughout the contract period, indicating an indefinite delivery arrangement for winter seasonal operations.

Deliveries must be completed within 7 calendar days of order receipt on an F.O.B. Destination basis, with trucks equipped with metering devices to record accurate gallon volumes on delivery tickets. The product must meet AASHTO M 144 specifications with a minimum 32 percent calcium chloride content in liquid form and must not contain corrosion inhibitors. Vendors are responsible for all transfer equipment needed to load DOT storage tanks and must provide current Safety Data Sheets and product specification sheets with each delivery. Invoices must be submitted to the Iowa DOT Winter Operations Administrator. The document does not specify pricing, set-asides, incumbent contractor status, or estimated contract value. A note in the contract opportunity summary references delivery to a CDC Warehouse in Woodward, Iowa, though the requirements document indicates deliveries to multiple DOT garage locations statewide.
