CUCM PAGING INTEGRATION & INTERCOM CONFIGURATION DIRECTORY

Location: Mississippi Air National Guard Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC), Gulfport, MS

Document Purpose: Companion Reference Document for the Base Paging System Upgrade. This document outlines the current state of CUCM-to-Paging system mapping, detailing registered intercom lines, Giant Voice activation extensions, and underlying hardware gateway configurations.

1. System Integration Overview & Engineering Analysis

The base currently utilizes a centralized Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) system to route verbal page broadcasts and intercom requests to physical buildings.

A technical review of active registrations indicates:

• Protocol & Pool: All paging and intercom endpoints are registered via Skinny Client Control Protocol (SCCP) under the Main-DP (Device Pool).

• Gateway Mechanism: The device names starting with AN29D26E2840... indicate analog gateway ports. These represent physical FXS (Foreign Exchange Station) ports on a voice gateway unit (such as a Cisco VG series high-density analog gateway or VG310/224) that terminate directly on the analog inputs of the Bogen UTI312 multi-zone paging controller and localized amplifiers.

• Dialing Method: Users dial specific 4-digit directory extensions (e.g., x2222 or x1243) from their desk phones. CUCM routes these calls over SCCP to the analog gateway, which closes a dry-contact relay, opening the physical audio path to the Bogen system.

2. Universal CUCM Access: Any desk phone registered to the base CUCM must retain the capability to dial designated paging extensions to make live verbal announcements.

3. Number Plan Preservation: The existing 4-digit directory extension numbering scheme (as listed in Section 2 & 3 of this document) must be preserved.

B. Gateway Retirement

1. VG Port Decommissioning: Once SIP connectivity is established and verified between CUCM and the new IP head-end paging server, the legacy Cisco Voice Gateway ports (AN29D26E2840...) shall be safely deactivated in CUCM and the hardware unpatched.

2. PWS Alignment: The physical hardware decommissioning shown in the accompanying Site Survey (e.g., removing the Bogen UTI312 controller and 66-blocks) must occur concurrently with the virtual retirement of these VG ports.

5. Migration Validation & Verification Checklist

• SIP Integration Verification: Confirm the new IP paging head-end server successfully registers as a SIP Trunk or SIP device pool on the CUCM.

• Base-Wide Dialing Test: Verify that dialing x1243 from any desk phone successfully triggers a broadcast across all new indoor IP speakers and outdoor horn arrays.

• ADR Site Test: Verify that dialing x2325 activates the targeted ADR Site exterior speaker horns.

• Zonal Building Verification: Perform individual dial tests for all 17 facility intercom lines listed in Section 2, confirming that paging audio only plays within the designated facility.

• Legacy Registration Clean-Up: Delete the decommissioned SCCP analog device profiles from the CUCM configuration database once verification is complete.
