About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) for market research purposes to identify domestic American manufacturers and suppliers of commercial-grade motor bearings for Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors used in small uncrewed aircraft systems (sUAS). TYAD is seeking three specific bearing types: 625-2RS (6mm inner diameter, 16mm outer diameter, 5mm thickness for motors larger than 31mm), MR126-2RS (6mm inner diameter, 12mm outer diameter, 4mm thickness for motors 28-31mm), and MR105-2RS (5mm inner diameter, 10mm outer diameter, 4mm thickness for motors 24-27mm). All bearing materials must be sourced domestically and cannot originate from China, the Russian Federation, Iran, or North Korea. Products must comply with the Berry Amendment specialty metals requirements under DFARS 252.225-7008 and DFARS 252.225-7009.
Interested companies must submit a capabilities statement of no more than ten pages in Microsoft Word or PDF format by 10:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on March 25, 2026, to corey.d.katsak.civ@army.mil and steven.wiltz.civ@army.mil. Submissions should include organization name, address, primary points of contact with email and telephone information, website address, type of ownership, and tailored capability statements with supporting documentation demonstrating organizational capacity to provide the required bearings. The RFI explicitly states this is for informational purposes only, does not constitute a solicitation or commitment, and no contract award will result from responses. No funds are available for response preparation, and all submitted materials are voluntary and will not be returned.
