About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) for market research purposes to identify domestic U.S.-based companies capable of manufacturing and supplying commercial-grade motor bearings for small uncrewed aircraft systems (sUAS). The RFI is not a solicitation for proposals and carries no obligation for the government to award a contract. TYAD seeks three specific bearing models for use in Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors: MR616-2RS (6mm ID, 16mm OD, 5mm thickness for motors larger than 31mm), MR126-2RS (6mm ID, 12mm OD, 4mm thickness for 28-31mm motors), and MR105-2RS (5mm ID, 10mm OD, 4mm thickness for 24-27mm motors), or suitable commercial-grade equivalents.

All bearings must be manufactured with materials sourced exclusively from non-prohibited countries, excluding China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. Respondents must demonstrate compliance with the Berry Amendment (10 U.S.C. 2533a) and associated DFARS clauses regarding specialty metals sourcing. Interested companies should submit a capabilities statement package of no more than ten pages in bullet format via email to corey.d.katsak.civ@army.mil and steven.wiltz.civ@army.mil by 10:00 a.m. EDT on March 25, 2026 (or March 31, 2026 per updated notice), including organization details, primary points of contact, and documentation supporting manufacturing and delivery capabilities. Responses will not be returned and must reference the synopsis number in the subject line.
