About this file

This Sole Source (Including Brand Name) Justification document is for the 48th Contracting Squadron at RAF Lakenheath, seeking ten (10) Snap-On 54" 13-Drawer Double-Bank Masters Series Roll Cab toolboxes for Vehicle Management. The toolboxes must meet specific requirements, including pre-etched unit designators, precut foam for tool accountability, 13 drawers, dimensions of 54" width x 45¾" height x 29" depth, hardwood top, durable metal construction, red or blue color, internal locking system, mobile wheels, and heavy-duty design. The justification highlights the need for standardization of toolboxes, with a focus on mission sustainment, lifetime tool warranty, and cost savings. Market research identified multiple potential vendors, including Snap-On, HardwareNow, Hillside Office Supplies Limited, KCP Car and Commercial LTD, and Paintworld, with the Contracting Officer determining the anticipated cost will be fair and reasonable based on competition between vendors and an Independent Government Estimate.
