About this file
This document is a Sole Source Determination for actions above the micro-purchase threshold but not exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT). The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to issue a firm fixed price sole source award to Mitel Distributing Corp. to calibrate 8 laboratory balances at the San Juan Laboratory to comply with ISO 17025 requirements. The total anticipated cost is approximately $. The rationale for the sole source is that Mettler Toledo manufactured all of the laboratory balances, and per the manufacturer's instructions, Mitel is the only authorized dealer that can provide these services in Puerto Rico. Additionally, the laboratory is ISO accredited, so the calibration services provider must also be ISO 17025 accredited. CBP will determine the price fair and reasonable based on market research. The period of performance will be 30 days after receipt of order.
