About this file
This document is a project solicitation for the City of Santa Monica's Public Landscape Division, involving a Sports Field Lighting Repair contract. The project seeks a qualified contractor to furnish, deliver, and install components and perform repair work on sports field lighting systems at six citywide locations: Marine Park, Clover Park, Memorial Park, Airport Park, John Adams Middle School, Belmar Park, and Los Amigos Park. The contract is a Contractual Services Agreement with a total value of $250,000 over five years, requiring routine and as-needed repair services for sports field lighting, including installation and replacement of 1500 watt metal halide lamps, ballast kits, repair of electrical components, routine servicing of lighting controls, and proper waste disposal. The work is to be performed during standard weekday business hours, with an estimated three call-outs per year, and a required response time of within two weeks of the City's call-out.
The project is locally funded and requires the vendor to be available Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, excluding holidays, with all work coordinated through the City of Santa Monica Public Works team. The contractor must ensure materials meet specifications and follow proper installation methods, with any additional repairs beyond the agreed scope requiring prior approval from the project manager. The lighting infrastructure involves specialized maintenance of poles reaching heights of 60-85 feet, necessitating advanced equipment and expertise. The contract emphasizes precise service requirements, including no weekend or holiday work, and orders placed on an as-needed basis by City staff.
