About this file

This document is a Work Write-Up prepared by the City of Jackson Community Development Department for a residential property located at 711 Third St in Jackson, Michigan. The scope of work includes multiple repair and renovation tasks: installing three interconnected smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, performing carpenter repairs to basement stairs and kitchen flooring, and a comprehensive roof replacement. The roof work specifically involves stripping the existing roof, repairing roof framing, installing new oriented-strand board sheathing, adding ice shield, applying new roofing felt, and installing architectural shingles. Additionally, the project includes gutter and downspout replacement with approximately 120 linear feet of gutters and 60 linear feet of downspouts.

The project is part of a competitive sealed bid process for repairs to program-qualified homeowners, with requirements that bidders must have Sam.gov registration, proper licensing, and obtain necessary permits. The work write-up is dated 1/24/2025 and indicates the contract will be awarded to the qualified lowest bidder. While specific pricing is not detailed in the document, the comprehensive scope suggests this is a rehabilitation project likely funded through a local community development program. The document includes spaces for owner and contractor signatures, indicating it will become part of the final construction contract once approved and accepted by both parties.
