About this file

This is a Work Write-Up document prepared by the City of Jackson, Michigan for a residential roof and gutter replacement project located at 148 Bates Street in Jackson, Michigan. The project involves stripping and replacing the existing roof with new architectural shingles, installing 7/16" oriented-strand board sheathing, implementing ice shield and felt underlayment, adding metal drip and rake edges, reflashing chimney and vents, and installing new gutters and downspouts. The work includes approximately 100 linear feet of gutters and 60 linear feet of downspouts, with the project specifications dated 9/25/2024. Contractors are required to submit sealed proposals through the City of Jackson e-Procurement Portal, with no pre-bid meeting scheduled, but contractors may contact the homeowner to inspect the property.

The project appears to be part of a residential rehabilitation program, with specific technical requirements for roofing materials, installation methods, and gutter systems. Contractors must comply with various civil rights regulations and equal employment opportunity standards established by the City of Jackson. While specific budget or funding details are not explicitly stated, the document suggests this is likely a municipal-sponsored home repair initiative targeting residential property improvements. The work write-up includes precise technical specifications for roof and gutter replacement, emphasizing code compliance, material quality, and proper installation techniques.
