The Illinois State Police intends to procure one Ninhydrin Development Chamber. All must be equivalent, or better than specifications listed in item two below. All quotes submitted must be valid for a minimum of 90 days. Deliveries are due within three weeks of contract execution, unless otherwise mutually agreed to by ISP and the vendor, but not later than June 30, 2020. FOB Destination (1941 W Roosevelt Rd, Chicago, IL 60608). Shipping and installation costs must be included in vendor pricing.
Ninhydrin Development Chamber Specifications:
Exterior - 33"W x 29"D x 78.5"H with stainless steel sides/top/bottom. Casters add another 3.75".
Shipping weight is 400 lbs.
Interior - 29"W x 27"D, 57.5"H of usable space with stainless steel walls/floor/ceiling. 27 c.f. capacity.
Insulation – Up to 2” of CFC-free foamed in place polyurethane.
Cooling/Heating/Humidifying – One 750 watt tubular electric resistance coil provides heat for temperature settings above ambient. An electrically commutated evaporator fan motor saves power and extends life. Ultrasonic humidity generator (requires TO water) increases RH inside chamber.
Temperature Range – 30-50*C, +/- 1.0*C measured in air at the sensor. Temperature control displays temperature to 0.1*C. Ambient laboratory temperature should be between 60*-80*F.
Relative Humidity Range – 50-80%, +/- 10% (lights off). Additive humidity is provided by ultrasonic humidity generator (ULTRAGEN). Plumbed RO water source is preferred, but tap water is acceptable.
Max water pressure should be 50 psi.
Temperature Failsafe – High temperature failsafe is located inside chamber to protect chamber in the event of a temperature excursion.
Instrument Panel – Temperature and humidity microprocessor controls with digital displays. Optional A/V hi/low temperature alarm with failsafe/battery back-up and optional Temp/RH 7 day chart recorder.
Alarm contact for remote access to a dialer is also available.
Air Flow – Chamber air is drawn up through the wire shelves and along the door surface to the cooling coils, where it is conditioned to the proper temperature/RH and forced down the rear wall to the bottom of the chamber.
Doors – Spring loaded, self-closing, double-paned, hinged glass door with black aluminum frame has electrically heated door jamb/frame to retard condensation. Door mechanism secures door in the 100” open position. Optional lock.
Drawer – One stainless steel drawer under door opening for storing supplies.
Shelves – Each 28.5” x 23.5” shelf has powder coated epoxy steel wire construction capable of supporting 125 lbs. of evenly distributed weight. Shelves attach to pilaster with stainless steel slips. Four shelves are included.

Lights – One cool white fluorescent lamp with interior on/off switch and lamp guard provides illumination.
Optional exterior rocker switch.
Electrical – 115 volts and 9.1 amps domestically. Standard 15 amp plug. Heat output depends on operating temperatures.
Quality Control – All chambers are run for 72 hours and evaluated for overall performance prior to shipping. Checkpoints include temperature/RH regulation, verification of failsafe, alarm, and recording thermometer function, power usage, electrical ground integrity, reverse polarity, and interior/exterior structure inspection.
Warranty – All chambers are warranted for one year from date of shipment for parts and workmanship.
