About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers (Q&A) for a Veterans Affairs construction project at the John Cochran VA Medical Center. The project involves creating a GI Anesthesia Procedure Room on the 6th Floor, with a total project value estimated between $500,000 and $5,000,000. Key project specifications include construction work during an active inpatient ward, with work hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and loud construction activities restricted to after-hours to minimize disruption to adjacent clinics and patient areas.

The Q&A document provides critical details for potential contractors, including submission requirements (hand delivery or FedEx/UPS to Leavenworth, Kansas), tax considerations (not tax-exempt), and specific technical details about the project. The contractor will be responsible for providing a third-party FTP site for submittal exchanges, adhering to ICRA 4 patient risk classification, and following specific guidelines for working in an active hospital environment. The project is managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 15, with a solicitation amendment dated 08/19/2025.
