About this file
This file contains vendor questions for a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Library of Congress (LOC) regarding smartphone-style enterprise mobile computers with integrated barcode scanners. The RFI, numbered 2027-LGD-0087, is market research for a potential procurement of 25 rugged devices to support inventory management at the Library's offsite facilities. The devices must run Android OS, feature touchscreen capabilities, USB charging, replaceable batteries, optional trigger accessories, and integrate with the Library's Finding Environment for Collected Holdings (FETCH) software.
The questions focus on vendor capability and market presence, requiring responses regarding current federal agency usage, availability through federal contracting vehicles, implementation in cultural heritage institutions, Microsoft Intune compatibility, and demonstration capabilities. Vendors are specifically asked to confirm whether they can provide an onsite or video demonstration at the Library of Congress location (101 Independence Ave SE, Washington DC 20540) at no cost, or alternatively describe alternative demonstration methods. The RFI explicitly states this is voluntary market research with no guarantee of future business, no contract award will result, and no contractor expenses will be reimbursed. The procurement would include an ongoing annual maintenance plan covering software updates, hardware repair, and device replacement.
