About this file

This is a pre-bid meeting clarification document for the Steamboat Lake State Park Bridge Island Shade Shelters project administered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The project involves the construction of multiple shade shelter structures at Bridge Island within the state park. A pre-bid meeting was conducted on August 25, 2015, to address contractor questions regarding the project specifications and design documents. The clarifications provided cover critical technical specifications including steel gauge requirements, concrete finishing standards, structural component quantities, and material sourcing guidelines.

Key clarifications from the pre-bid meeting address several discrepancies in the contract documents and establish project requirements. Steel gauge specifications are to comply with 24 GA rather than 26 GA as indicated in conflicting plan details. All concrete will be non-tinted, contrary to the detail sheet notation. Manufacturers for structural components must be approved equals to the specified AMERIB brand and must demonstrate a minimum of five years manufacturing experience with the ability to provide detailed shop drawings for approval. The project requires five piers per structure consisting of three piers on the back and two on the front, not six anchor plates as initially shown. Concrete testing requirements follow Section 3290 standards, requiring sampling and testing for each 10 cubic yards of fresh concrete or fractional amounts, with a minimum of one test set per day of concreting. Pier drilling spoils may be disposed on-site at a designated location. The engineer's estimate for the project is $198,540.00.
