About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for the Capitol Dome Duct Repair project involving the Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS). The project scope, as clarified in response to bidder inquiries, is limited to repairs of specific ductwork sections on the southwest side of the catwalk for the AHU5 duct system, as identified during the pre-bid meeting. The work does not include full ductwork replacement, complete maintenance or restoration of the AHU5 system, duct cleaning, or insulation replacement. Representatives attending the pre-bid conference were shown the exact areas requiring repair. The vendor is responsible for starting up AHU5 upon completion to verify that repairs are successful.
Performance requirements are specified in section 1.2.3 of the RFQ and require AHU5 startup verification. No engineering drawings, markups, or engineering notes are available to bidders. If additional ductwork damage is discovered during the repair process, the contractor must notify ILSOS before proceeding with any additional work beyond the original scope.
