About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers document related to a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) for an Access Control Systems project. The RFI seeks information from vendors on their ability to provide an integrated access control system for multiple MSP locations across the state. Key details include the requirement for a central access control server, the use of 26-bit Wiegand credentials, and the need for integrations with video surveillance, intercoms, and intrusion alarms, although these integrations would be implemented at a later date. The project also requires a 5-year advance replacement warranty on the access control hardware.

The document does not provide information on the estimated funding source, budget, or if there is an incumbent contractor currently providing these services. It also does not specify the number of sites or doors that require access control upgrades, though it estimates 8 doors per site for locations without an existing system. The project is a new contract opportunity for the MSP, and funding for a formal solicitation has not yet been secured.
