The project involves removing and resetting 830 feet of woven wire fence at the eastbound entrance ramp onto I-26 from U.S. 601. The Request for Quote specifies that the existing materials, including woven wire, t-posts, and pull posts, will be reused for the reinstallation.

The Q&A document provides clarification for potential bidders, addressing specific questions about the fence's location and materials. Attachment A, referenced in the responses, contains a diagram detailing the fence installation. The project appears to be a straightforward infrastructure maintenance task focusing on repositioning existing fencing materials at a specific highway entrance ramp location.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ARE BELOW. THE SCDOT’S ANSWER APPEARS IN RED.

QUESTION #1:

Is there any more information available on the specs, or details of the materials of the existing fence? Where is it located and being relocated to?

The Request for Quote specifies the removal and resetting of 830 feet of woven wire fence. Attachment A includes a diagram detailing the fence installation. The project will reuse the existing woven wire, t-posts, and pull posts for reinstallation. The work is located at the eastbound entrance ramp onto I-26 from U.S. 601.

QUESTION #2:

Approximately which mile marker is the fence near? One side of I-26 has barbed wire with wooden posts, and the other side has metal posts with a combination of barbed and smooth wire. I am just trying to get as close as possible for the quote.

SCDOT RESPONSE:

Attachment A is a drawing showing fence installations. The reset fence will use existing woven wire, existing t-posts, and existing pull posts for placement. The location of the project is on the Eastbound Entrance Ramp onto I-26 at U.S. 601.
