About this file
This file is a Pre-submission Conference Meeting Questions and Answers document related to the Illinois Department of Human Services' procurement of a 100 lb. capacity rigid mount washer/extractor for a facility laundry unit. The Department is seeking bids for the equipment, with the contract term extending from the date of execution through June 30, 2026. The washer must be delivered, installed, and fully operational no later than June 30, 2026. The facility operates during normal business hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, though vendors may request additional hours as needed.
Key operational and technical requirements for vendors include ensuring all delivery personnel submit to background checks at least one week prior to delivery, entering the facility via the Sally Port or, if necessary, through the gate behind the laundry using a tractor or forklift. The equipment must be compatible with both hot and cold water systems and does not require a specific brand, provided all bid specifications are met. The facility operates on 3-phase, 208-volt electrical service. Vendors are responsible for reconnecting all chemical lines upon installation and must coordinate with Ecolab, the facility's chemical supplier. The procurement does not require equipment to be brand-specific, allowing vendors flexibility in their proposals while maintaining compliance with all stated specifications.
